At Windmill Chiropractic Wellness Center our examination procedures are geared toward evaluating the health of your Nerve System. Since you live your life through your Nerve System it is the most important system in your body. We are looking to see if there is interference to your Nerve System, which will impact how well your body is functioning and how healthy you are. When there is interference to the Nerve System it is called a Vertebral Subluxation.
Our Examination consists of a thorough spinal and nervous system exam which includes "Palpation". Palpation is evaluating your Nerve System by feeling your spine by hand. With this exam the doctor can feel areas of your Nerve System that may be involved with subluxation. Spinal position, curvatures and muscle tone can also be examined as it relates to possible Vertebral Subluxations.
The next part of the evaluation will be a computerized analysis of your Nerve System. This is a painless procedure that takes about 20 minutes to complete. We will measure the health of the nerves to your muscles and look at muscle balance and tone. Then we will measure how well the nerves are communicating to your organs, glands, and systems. Last we look at Heart Rate Variability (HRV). HRV looks at how well your Nerve System is adapting to your day to day stress.
Spinal X-rays may be taken depending on your age, and situation. X-rays are a common part of the examination process when looking for vertebral subluxations. X-rays give us important information including the position of the spinal bones, and the quality of the spine and safety of adjusting it. We can also see on X-rays how long the subluxations have been in the making. Most new practice members receive between three and five spinal x-rays at the beginning of care.
Report of Findings: You will be scheduled for your Report of Findings within a few days of your initial visit. This visit is a very important visit and may take up to one hour. It is at your Report of Findings that we will recommend the best Wellness Program to allow you to reach your health goals. We have set aside specific times for these visits so as not to interfere with regular patient care hours. Our staff will schedule your Report of Findings with you after your first visit.
